Surrender Multihand Blackjack combines classic blackjack strategy with defensive betting tools that give experienced players more control over unfavorable situations. Play up to three simultaneous hands with high bet limits, optional side bets, and the added protection of Surrender and Insurance mechanics. Here's how it works:
Understanding Card Values
- Number cards (2-10): Worth their face value
- Face cards (Jack, Queen, King): Worth 10 points each
- Ace: Worth 1 or 11—whichever benefits your hand most
Deck Configuration: 8 standard decks of 52 cards are used per game.
Step 1: Place Your Main Bets
Use the chip selector to place bets on any or all of the 3 available boxes. You can play a single hand or all three simultaneously.
Bet limits:
- Main bet: Up to $2,500 per box
- Maximum total bet: $9,000 across all 3 boxes ($3,000 per hand)
Step 2: Place Side Bets (Optional)
For any box with a main bet placed, you can add one or both optional side bets (up to $250 per side bet):
21+3 Side Bet:
- Based on your 2 initial cards combined with the dealer's face-up card
- Win by forming poker-style combinations with these 3 cards:
- Flush: All 3 cards the same suit
- Straight: 3 consecutive value cards
- Three of a Kind: 3 cards of the same value
- Straight Flush: 3 consecutive cards of the same suit
- Suited Three of a Kind: 3 identical cards (same value and suit)
Perfect Pair Side Bet:
- Based on whether your first 2 cards form a pair
- Win categories:
- Mixed Pair: Same value, different suits and colors
- Colored Pair: Same value, different suits but same color
- Perfect Pair: Same value, identical suit
Side bets are evaluated independently of your main hand result.

Step 3: Deal the Cards
Once all bets are placed, deal the cards. Each active box receives 2 face-up cards. The dealer receives:
- 1 face-up card (visible to all players)
- 1 face-down card (hidden until dealer's turn)
Step 4: Insurance (If Dealer Shows an Ace)
If the dealer's face-up card is an Ace, you are offered Insurance before play continues:
- Insurance costs 50% of your original bet per hand
- The dealer checks their face-down card for Blackjack:
If the dealer has Blackjack:
- Insurance pays 2:1
- Your insurance win partially or fully offsets your main hand loss
If the dealer does not have Blackjack:
- Your insurance bet is lost
- The round continues as normal
Step 5: Evaluate Your Hands
Add up the card values for each active hand. Your goal is to reach as close to 21 as possible without busting (going over 21), while finishing closer to 21 than the dealer.
Step 6: Choose Your Action (Per Hand)
For each active box, select from the available moves:
Stand:
- Keep your current hand total as-is
- No additional cards drawn
- Move on to next hand or dealer's turn
Hit:
- Request an additional card to increase your total
- Continue hitting until you stand or bust
- Busting (exceeding 21) immediately loses that hand
Double Down:
- Available on any 2-card hand
- Doubles your bet on that hand
- You receive exactly 1 additional card then must stand
- Higher risk but greater payout potential
Split:
- Available when your first 2 cards are a matching pair
- Divides the pair into 2 separate hands, each receiving a second card
- Requires an additional bet equal to your original for the split hand
- Both hands are then played independently
Surrender:
- Available on your initial 2-card hand only (before hitting, standing, splitting or doubling)
- Choose to forfeit the hand when the odds look unfavorable
- You receive 50% of your bet back and forfeit the other half
- Play immediately moves on to your remaining active hands
- Best used when holding a weak total (e.g. 15 or 16) against a strong dealer card (e.g. 9, 10 or Ace)

Step 7: Dealer Reveals and Draws
Once all hands have stood, busted or surrendered, the dealer reveals their face-down card and follows strict drawing rules:
- Must draw cards until their total reaches 17 or higher
- Must stand on 17 or higher
- If the dealer exceeds 21, the dealer busts
Step 8: Determine Outcomes
Each hand is evaluated independently against the dealer's final total:
Win: Your hand is closer to 21 than the dealer, or the dealer busts while your hand is active Loss: Your hand busts, or the dealer's total is closer to 21 than yours Push (Tie): Your hand and the dealer's total are equal—your original bet is returned Surrender: Half your bet is returned, half is forfeited
Standard Payouts:
- Blackjack (Ace + 10-value card on first 2 cards): 3:2
- Standard win: 1:1
- Insurance: 2:1 (if dealer has Blackjack)
- Push: Bet returned
- Surrender: 50% of bet returned
The default theoretical Return to Player (RTP) is 99.48% and the maximum multiplier is 101x

In this version of Blackjack, players have the option to surrender 50% of their bet on the first 2 cards dealt when the odds seem against them.
