How To Play Poker

The aim of Poker is to finish with the best five-card hand you can, with a pair of Jacks or better as the lowest paying hand. Here's a step-by-step guide to playing Poker.

Step 1: Set your bet value

Enter your bet per hand anywhere from $0.10 to $150, or use the /2 and x2 buttons.

Step 2: Choose how many hands

Use +1, +10 or Max to play up to 100 hands, and Undo to go back. Each hand is dealt from its own 52-card deck, and the Total bet shows your bet multiplied by the number of hands.

Step 3: Hold your cards

Press Bet to deal five cards. Tap the cards you want to keep and Held appears under them. With Auto Hold switched on, the game holds cards for you.

Step 4: Deal

Press Deal to replace every card you didn't hold. Each hand then pays its bet times the multiplier for its best combination, and any hand without a winning combination loses its bet.

Our Verdict

Video poker fans will spot the paytable straight away. Poker by 100HP Gaming is Jacks or Better with a Full House at ×8 and a Flush at ×6, the version known as 8/6. That's one step down from full-pay 9/6, and it's why the RTP sits at 98.39% rather than around 99.5%.

Even so, 98.39% is a strong return for a casual card game, and the multi-hand option is what makes this one stand out. Pushing the counter to 100 hands turns a single good starting hand into a hundred draws, so a held pair of Kings or four cards to a Flush plays out across the whole table at once.

Auto Hold is handy for speed, but read its rules before leaning on it. It will break up a pair to chase four to a Flush, for example, and 100HP says plainly that its choices aren't always optimal, so the full 98.39% depends on making the right holds yourself.
