Chicken Ways by SmartSoft Gaming is a mines-style crash game where you navigate a brave chicken through a 13x13 grid of hidden traps, unlocking bigger win multipliers with every safe step. Choose your direction carefully — each path carries its own volatility — and decide after every successful move whether to cash out or push deeper into the grid. Make it all the way across to claim the maximum win of 10,000x, but trigger a trap at any point and it's back to the beginning with your bet lost.

Step 1: Place Your Bet

Set your desired stake anywhere between $0.10 and $1,000 using the bet field before taking your first step.

Step 2: Choose Your Direction and Take the First Step

Click one of the directional arrow buttons or select an adjacent grid block to submit your bet and move the chicken onto the first square. Each direction carries a different level of volatility, meaning the probability of a safe step versus a trap varies depending on which way you go:

• Up – Medium volatility
• Straight – High volatility
• Down – Low volatility

Choose based on your risk appetite - low volatility gives you a safer path while high volatility offers bigger rewards for the same number of steps.

If the chicken arrives safely on the grid block without triggering a trap, the win multiplier displayed on that block is unlocked and becomes your current cashout value. The further into the grid you advance, the larger the multipliers grow.

Step 3: Cash Out or Risk Another Step

After each safe landing you face the same decision:

• Cash Out – Collect your winnings at the current multiplier and return to the start for a new round.
• Take Another Step – Pick your next direction and push further into the grid for a shot at an even larger multiplier.

There's no time limit - take as long as you need to decide. The risk is entirely yours to manage.

At any point a step can trigger a hidden trap. If the chicken sets one off, the round ends immediately, your bet is lost, and the chicken is sent back to the beginning. There's no warning before it happens - every step carries risk regardless of the direction chosen.

Reach the Maximum Win

Navigate safely through the entire 13x13 grid without triggering a single trap and you'll unlock the maximum win of 10,000x your bet, paid out instantly as a cash prize. You're then returned to the start to begin a new round.

The default theoretical Return to Player (RTP) is 97.0% and the maximum multiplier is 10,000x.

Below are the key features of Chicken Ways:

• Volatility: Choose one of three directions with each step - Up, Straight or Down. Direction can be changed during all steps of the grid, unless you reach a side of the 13x13 playing grid in which you can no longer take a step in this direction and must change. Up = Medium volatility, Straight = High volatility, Down = Low volatility.
• Bet history: View your historical round information in the bet history panel
• Leaderboards: Compete on global leaderboards for the top positions. Leaderboards are broken down into Daily Weekly and Monthly time frames.
• Turbo Mode: Dramatically increase the speed of gameplay animation by turning on the Turbo Mode option.‍
• Light or Dark Mode - flick the toggle to change the game from a light or dark viewing setting, making playing in low light or bright environments easier and more enjoyable.

This is the second game of its kind we’ve seen from SmartSoft since they debuted this game genre with Cheesy Road not too long ago. Chicken Ways blends the previous game with the popular and trending chicken character that has been dominating fast format games since 2025. Chicken ways retains all of the mechanics and features from the previous game, but has been wrapped in a brand new skin with a completely new vibe and atmosphere.

As was introduced after some time as an update to Cheesy Road, this game also has a light and dark mode which is a nice touch considering we might be playing at night in a low light environment, or just generally like a darkened format. Overall, a great second round for this game style from SmartSoft and we wouldn’t be surprised if we see more in the future!
