Sugar Plinko is simple and fun to play, making it very easy for beginners. Each bet drops a hard candy down from the top of the pyramid, where it tumbles down the pins into any of the multiplier buckets below. The bucket the candy lands into instantly awards a win of your bet multiplied by the value of the bucket. By using the adjustable risk levels, adjustable number of pins and feature buy options, you can build the game to your liking. See the full gameplay steps below.
Step 1: Configure the rows of pins
You can change the board to play with anywhere from 8 to 16 rows of pins. The more pin rows, the bigger the variance in multiplier bucket values from the center to the far sides.
Step 2: Choose your risk level
Select from three risk options – Low, Medium and High:
- Low Risk: Higher win frequency with smaller maximum multipliers
- Medium Risk: Balanced volatility with moderate multiplier range
- High Risk: Lower win frequency with significantly larger maximum multipliers
Step 3: Set your bet amount
Bets can be placed anywhere from $0.10 to $25. Each candy dropped is equal to 1 bet.
Step 4: Start dropping candies
Press the big yellow PLAY button to drop candies. Each time you drop a candy you are deducted from your balance equal to 1 bet value amount. The candy will tumble its way down the pyramid, bouncing off pins and eventually landing in one of the multiplier buckets.
Your balance will instantly be credited at your bet value multiplied by the value of the bucket your candy landed in.
Step 5: Play with Feature Options
There are three feature options to choose, and you can play with any or all of them at once. These features cost a premium bet price each time you drop a candy, but offer additional value for the round.
- Multiplier Candies – A chance to drop candies with a boosted multiplier value of up to ×10. Costs 20% additional bet value – a $1.00 bet becomes $1.20.
- Multiplier Gates – Places up to 3 adjustable gates spanning between two pegs which multiply the value of the candy by ×2 if it passes through the gate, and can stack multipliers if candies pass through more than one gate. Costs 60% additional bet value – a $1.00 bet becomes $1.60.
- Respins Chance – Places two portals in replacement of two multiplier buckets. Candies landing in the portals earn no win, however are sent back to the top of the pyramid to tumble down again. Costs 20% additional bet value – a $1.00 bet becomes $1.20.
-
The default theoretical Return to Player (RTP) is 97.0% and the maximum multiplier per ball is ×10,000. Achieving the max win of ×10,000 requires a combination of feature buy options such as Multiplier Candies and Multiplier Gates.
Below are the key game features of Sugar Plinko:
- Choose Risk Level: A volatility toggle, used to widen the spread of winning vs losing multipliers on the buckets. You have three options – Low, Medium and High. Increasing the risk will offer bigger multipliers at the far ends of the row of multiplier buckets, and more losing bets towards the center.
- Choose Number Of Pin Rows: Play with anywhere from 8 to 16 rows of pins. The more pins, the larger the multipliers towards the outer edges of the row of multiplier buckets. This is another volatility control.
- Choose Number of Candies Dropped: Choose to drop anywhere from 1 to 100 candies with a single click. You will be deducted your bet amount multiplied by the number of candies chosen.
- Autoplay: Automates a consecutive number of bets to be placed in succession. This is different to the Number of Candies Dropped option. Combined together, you can automate many candies dropped.
- Special Feature Buys: There are three unique feature buy options with a premium bet price for added value to your game – Multiplier Candies, Multiplier Gates and Respins Chance.
- Bet Ticker: See a running list of your 10 most recent bets in real time as your candies land in the multiplier buckets. The ticker shows the bet time, bet amount, multiplier win and total profit.

Sugar Plinko is a mobile friendly game, optimised for both iOS and Android devices. Play directly in your browser with no download required.
Sugar Plinko is the 7th Plinko release from BGaming since the original back in 2019. This release follows the format of the more recent games such as Plinko Football, where you can boost your game by adding special feature options for a premium price.
BGaming have put a lot of work into the graphics and sound with Sugar Plinko, and this is noticeable from when you first open the game. It's rich in color and features lively, consistent artwork throughout. Candies replace the standard plinko ball in this game, and the drop animation has had a bit of a rework with some nice extra touches when the candies bounce off the pins.
It does play almost identically to the previous plinko games from BGaming that are built on this same engine. Mostly, this is just a reskin in a new colorful candy themed landscape. Oddly enough though, this is the first plinko release from BGaming that lowers the RTP, advertised as 97.0% and mentioning in the game info an average theoretical RTP of 96.5% – 96.9%. The remaining other plinko games from BGaming sit at a competitive 99.0%.
While the drop in RTP doesn't deter us, it's unexpected to see considering the lineup before it. For most players, the difference will be negligible in the short term. But for serious players looking for extended sessions, you may find yourself leaning towards a game with a better win chance.
