The aim is to win money by dropping plinko balls down the pyramid made of 16 rows of pins with 17 multiplier buckets below the final row. The ball bounces off the pins as it falls, arriving in one of the multiplier buckets. Your win amount is the value indicated on the multiplier bucket relative to your bet size. Random boosted multiplier balls can drop, increasing your base multiplier value up to ×10. Below is a step-by-step guide to playing a round of Plinko X Classic.

Step 1: Set your bet amount

Set your bet level anywhere from $0.10 to $100. Nudge your bet amount higher or lower using the + and - buttons, or click the value in the display to bring up the quick pick bet size menu. Each ball dropped is equal to ×1 the value chosen in this step.

Step 2: Turbo mode on or off

Turn on turbo mode to increase the animation speed, or leave it off to slow the animation speed down. If you plan on making lots of bets, best to leave this on; however if you are only playing a few rounds or wanting a chill idle session, leave it off.

Step 3: Place a bet and drop the ball

Drop a plinko ball onto the pyramid by pressing the purple PLAY button. One of three balls will enter the game, and its color indicates its base multiplier value.

• Red ball: ×1 multiplier
• Yellow ball: ×5 multiplier
• Orange ball: ×10 multiplier

The ball will tumble its way down the Plinko X Classic pyramid and drop into one of the multiplier buckets under the final row of pins. Your payout is immediate and is a multiplication of your ball type, the multiplier bucket value and your bet size.

Example: If an orange ball (×10) lands in a box with a ×10 multiplier, your total multiplier is ×100 (10 × 10). Therefore, if your bet amount was $3, this bet would return $300 ($3 × 100).

The paytable below shows the win multiplier for each ball type dropped into each multiplier bucket. Multiply the ball value by the bucket value for your total win multiplier.

The default theoretical Return to Player (RTP) is 97.0% and the maximum multiplier per ball is 10,000x. The RTP is the same regardless of the difficulty mode, and the max win of ×10,000 must be won by combining the ×10 ball with the ×1,000 multiplier bucket.

Plinko X Classic by SmartSoft Gaming is a mobile friendly game, optimised for both iOS and Android devices. It's lightweight and requires no download, meaning you can play it directly in your mobile browser.

Plinko X Classic takes on the same design inspiration as the previous Plinko X game by SmartSoft Gaming, however it has removed several additional features and kept the game at a very basic level.

The developer has removed the option to choose your difficulty, choose the number of balls dropped per bet or activate B+ mode for greater chance at boosted multiplier balls. Instead, the game takes on a more simple approach where from initial loading the game, the only decision that is really worth considering before playing is your bet size.

Perhaps there is a market for players who don't care about special features in plinko and would rather have fewer variables to manage, and enjoy plinko where you can jump straight into the game and avoid decision making often seen in other titles.

Personally, we enjoy the original Plinko X more than this, and would rather have the option to at least choose the volatility level. Also we found that in Plinko X Classic, the turbo mode isn't really that fast – this could probably be improved with a slight increase of the animation speed when toggled on.
