How To Play Plinko
Plinko is a game of chance, where you drop a ball through a pyramid of pins. At each row the ball bounces left or right, before landing in one of the buckets along the bottom. Each bucket pays your bet multiplied by its multiplier. Read our step-by-step player guide below.
Step 1: Choose your bet value
Choose a bet value anywhere from $0.10 to $100. Use the − and + buttons to adjust your bet, halve or double it with ½ and 2x, type an amount directly, or pick one from the list.
Step 2: Choose the risk
Choose Low, Medium or High risk. Higher risk pays more in the buckets at the edges of the board and less in the middle.
Step 3: Choose the number of rows
Choose anywhere from 8 to 16 rows of pins. More rows make the edge buckets harder to reach, but pay more for reaching them.
Step 4: Press Play to drop a ball
Pressing Play takes your bet and drops a ball. You don't have to wait for it to land, so you can drop another ball while others are still falling, or hold Play down to keep dropping them at up to five balls a second.
Each bucket shows its multiplier. Green buckets pay more than your bet, while blue buckets pay back your bet or part of it. Your win is added to your balance as soon as the ball lands. Your bet, risk and rows can't be changed until every ball has landed.
Example: A $2.00 bet at Medium risk with 12 rows. A ball landing in a ×4 bucket wins $8.00.
Plinko RTP and Win
The Return to Player (RTP) is 97.81% to 98.09%, depending on the risk and rows, and the maximum win is ×1,000 your bet.
Every ball's path is decided the moment you drop it, and the animation simply shows it. Wins are rounded to the nearest cent.
To achieve the max win of ×1,000, set the risk to High with 16 rows and land a ball in one of the buckets at the very edge of the board.
Game Features
Below are the key features of Plinko
- Risk and rows: Combine Low, Medium or High risk with anywhere from 8 to 16 rows. Low risk with fewer rows gives steady, frequent returns, while High risk with more rows gives rare but much larger wins at the edges. The volatility of the game is completely in your hands.
- Multi-ball drops: Drop a new ball while others are still falling, or hold Play down to drop up to five balls a second.
- Auto Play: Choose how many balls to drop, from 5 to 1,000 or infinite, and a speed of slow, medium or fast, which drops one ball every second, half second or quarter second. Auto Play uses the bet, risk and rows set when it starts. Press Stop Auto at any time, and any balls already falling will still land. Auto play also stops if your balance is lower than your bet.
- Fast mode: Press the lightning button at the top to play the game 1.5x as fast.
- Provably Fair results: The Provably Fair settings show the seeds every ball's path comes from, so you can check that no path was changed after you placed your bet.
- Round History: View your last 50 balls. Select the details icon to see a ball in full.
- Disable Animations: Turn off animations to see results instantly for faster play.
- Space To Bet: Press the Space bar to drop a ball without needing to click Play.
Mobile Compatibility
Plinko is mobile friendly and requires no download on your mobile device, loading directly in most modern browsers. On desktop, turn on Space To Bet to drop balls straight from your keyboard.
Our Verdict
Plinko keeps the classic pin board simple and satisfying. The minimal theme lets the balls do the talking, and the green and blue buckets make it easy to see at a glance which landings are a profit and which only return part of your bet.
The risk and row settings give you plenty of control. Low risk with 8 rows keeps your balance ticking along with frequent small returns, while High risk with 16 rows pushes almost everything to the edges, where the ×1,000 max win sits. With the RTP sitting between 97.81% and 98.09% across every setup, you can pick whichever style suits you without giving much away.
The pace is a big part of the fun. Being able to drop a new ball before the last one lands, or hold Play down for up to five balls a second, turns Plinko into a fast, rolling session rather than a one-ball-at-a-time wait. The lightning button and Disable Animations speed things up even more.
Auto Play is flexible, with up to 1,000 balls or infinite play at three different speeds. There are no profit or loss limits to stop auto play automatically, so keep an eye on your balance during longer sessions.
