Chick or Crack by Astriona

Chick or Crack by Astriona is a farmyard-themed mines game where you tap through a grid of eggs hoping to find fluffy unhatched chicks hiding inside. Every chick you uncover unlocks a bigger win multiplier, but crack open a yolk and the round is over instantly. Configure your grid size and danger level, then pick your way through the eggs as carefully, or as boldly as you like.

Step 1: Place Your Bet

Set your desired stake anywhere between $1.00 and $200 using the bet field before configuring the round.

Step 2: Configure Your Grid

Choose the size of the egg grid you want to play on. Larger grids offer more tiles to work through and greater max win potential:

• 3x3 – 9 tiles
• 5x5 – 25 tiles (default)
• 7x7 – 49 tiles

Step 3: Set the Number of Losing Symbols

Decide how many yolk symbols are hidden across the grid. The minimum is always 1 and the maximum is always the total number of tiles minus 1 - so on a 5x5 grid that means anywhere from 1 to 24 losing symbols. The more yolks you add, the higher the volatility, the faster the multipliers climb, and the greater the max win potential - but the harder it becomes to avoid a crack.

Step 4: Press Bet and Start Picking

Press Bet to lock in your configuration and activate the grid. Tap any egg to crack it open. One of two things will happen:

• Chick revealed – A cute little chick appears, the first win multiplier is unlocked, and the egg is marked as safe.
• Yolk revealed – The round ends immediately, your bet is lost, and the grid resets back to the configuration phase for a new round.

Step 5: Cash Out or Risk Another Pick

After each successful chick reveal, you have a choice:

• Cash Out – Collect your current win multiplier as an instant cash credit to your balance and return to the configuration phase.
• Pick Again – Tap another egg for a shot at a larger multiplier, knowing that one yolk ends everything.

Successfully reveal every single chick on the grid without cracking a single yolk and you'll claim the maximum win for your chosen configuration. The payout is automatically credited to your balance and the game resets back to the configuration phase, ready for your next round.

Chick or Crack keeps things simple on the surface but offers a solid set of tools for players who like to fine-tune their experience.

• Game Grid Sizes – Choose from three grid layouts — 3x3, 5x5, or 7x7 — to control the scale of the game. Larger grids mean more picks, more multiplier progression, and bigger max win potential.
• Volatility Control – Adjust the number of yolk symbols hidden across the grid to dial your risk up or down. More yolks mean faster-climbing multipliers and a higher max win, but a much greater chance of ending the round early. The minimum is always 1 and the maximum is always the grid size minus 1.
• Select Random – Not sure which egg to tap next? Use the Select Random feature to let the game pick one for you. This is purely a convenience tool — it has no influence on the outcome of the round whatsoever.
• Autobet – Pre-select the eggs you want revealed, define your bet value, grid size, and losing symbol count, then set the number of rounds to run automatically. A handy feature for players who prefer a consistent, repeating strategy without manual input each round.
• Turbo Mode – Toggle Turbo Mode to speed up the round animation. Most noticeable during Autobet sessions — the difference during manual single picks is minimal, but it can significantly reduce waiting time across a long automated run.‍
• Volume Toggle – Turn the game sounds on or off at any time using the volume toggle. Simple, but always appreciated during long sessions or in quieter environments.

The major highlight of Chick or Crack is actually the graphics and animations. It's quite relaxing to crack open the eggs, watching the little chick character pop up from inside. The animations themselves are also very smooth and subtle. Outside of the theme and art style, the game does play much like all other crash games (which is also a good thing). As per normal, you can configure the grid size, the volatility and run some autoplay if you want to sit back and take it easy.

A couple of improvements worth mentioning however. When preselecting the eggs to crack during round automation, it's actually not so obvious which eggs you have already selected. The style change is so subtle that it's a bit awkward to see the difference between a selected and a default one. Also there is no way to scroll the win multiplier indicator at the top of the game grid. Normally we would expect to be able to scroll this to see what the max win and win increase looks like based on our game configuration (grid size and losing symbol number).
